Kensworth is “managed” by a Parish Council consisting
of 9 Councillors plus the Clerk to the Council. The
Council is elected to look after the interests of all those who
live in Kensworth.
The Council has direct responsibility for some aspects of village
life, for example maintenance of the Recreation Ground and provision
of allotments. For matters outside its direct responsibility like
street lighting, roadway maintenance, policing, planning permission,
it has strong links with the South Beds District Council and the Bedfordshire
County Council.
Individual Councillors also act as contact points for other local
organisations, for example the local school, Kensworth Quarry, the
Village Hall. By means of this contact any items of relevance are
brought to the notice of the Council
Councillors from the District and County Councils generally attend
Parish Council meetings to provide advice and comment on current
issues
The Council meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month in the Village
Hall (except in August).
Meetings start at 7:30 pm and members of the public are welcome
to attend.
